Miami New Developments


Miami new developments in Edgewater, Downtown Miami, and Brickell condo pre-construction are on demand. Cranes are up and new projects are on their way.

With Brickell CityCentre, a $1.05 billion shopping and mixed-use project that broke ground in 2012 expected to be completed at the end of 2015 and will span three blocks just west of Brickell Avenue to the south of the Miami River. The 5-million-square-foot mega-project by developer Swire Properties will include a department store, luxury shops, restaurants, a hotel, office towers and condominiums.

The new Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science which will be located in Downtown Miami’s Museum Park on Biscayne Boulevard just South of 395 overlooking Biscayne Bay,  marking the continuation of Miami’s rise as one of the world’s most culturally rich cities. The groundbreaking took place February 2012, with the new museum scheduled to open to the public by early 2015.

The Genting Group will occupy the current Miami Herald site on Biscayne Bay to build their Resorts World Miami. There is a lot of buzz with this new project which will consist of a luxury hotel with fewer than 500 rooms  plus two condo towers, with the total space of 100,00 square feet devoted to restaurants and boutiques. Demolition of the Miami Herald building has started.

Miami Worldcenter and Grand Central Miami station also known as the All Aboard Florida are the most significant planned project within the Downtown Miami area. This mixed-use project is located in the northern part of Downtown Miami and west of the American Airlines Arena and Biscayne Boulevard.

The Miami Worldcenter located in the heart of Downtown Miami will be breaking ground this year. The project includes 30 acres and will provide 750,000 square feet of retail space including 600,000 square feet of convention space, in addition to an approximate of 1,800 room Marriot Marquis Hotel. Its plans also include approximately 1,200 condo units as well as an approximate of 1,900 apartment units. Retail anchors such as Macy’s and Bloomingdales amongts many other retailers.

Many condo pre-construction developments are already in their development phases. Developments such as Icon Bay, Bay House, and  The Crimson should be finished this year. Biscayne Beach has broken ground as well Paraiso Bay development.

Many Miami new developments are in the horizon. With so much that Miami has to offer it’s residence and tourists Miami is on the map as one of the major cities in the United States!
